The House & Grounds
Our house is furnished throughout with an eclectic mix of antique and modern furnishings gathered from travels around the world which gives it a warm and friendly atmosphere. Guests can relax and enjoy our four large and very comfortable bedrooms, each equipped with a private bathroom, the sitting room with huge open fireplace, a music room and the well stocked bookshelves. Guests are welcome to borrow dvds and cds or enjoy the board games. WiFi and cabled internet access is available throughout the house and guests have access to computers, printers, fax, internet phone and Skype. For those staying on business there is a range of other facilities available including data projector and meeting room. Outside, we have a very private walled swimming pool with Mediterranean garden, pretty flower garden with terraces and large fish pond, a well stocked orchard with chickens (which produce our free range eggs) and rabbits, an organic vegetable garden (which feeds our noted table) and private parking. There is also a full sized double tennis court in preparation and a field, sometimes occupied by cows (Aquitaine Blondes), but which, when empty, is a wonderful place for children to work off excess energy. We have many children’s games including ping pong, billiards and boules. Do let us know if you need to use the kitchen to prepare baby food.

There are four large guest bedrooms (35 – 55 square metres including bathrooms) and very comfortable guest bedrooms decorated and furnished to various themes, relating to our travels and work around the world. Each has its own private bathroom, equipped with a large bath, a separate shower, washbasin and wc. Other facilities in each room include: bathrobes, hairdryer, power adapter, internet connection (cable and wifi), tea and coffee making facilities, snack bowl, tourist information and guide books, fly and mosquito killers (not that we have many insects but people ask for them!) and torch. In the hall and on the landing there are fire extinguishers and emergency lanterns, for use in the unlikely event of a power cut). It is possible to convert each bedroom into a “family room” with the addition of one or two collapsible beds. There is a cot, high chair, baby bath and other facilities for families with a baby. If you have more than one baby please let us know in advance so we can provide extra baby equipment. Guests are welcome to use the washing machine, tumble drier and washing lines by arrangement and the fridge and microwave in the well house. All rooms in the house are strictly ‘no smoking’ though guests who wish to do so are welcome to smoke outside (in the well house if it is raining). Beds are made each day unless you request otherwise. Bed linen and towels etc are changed every third day for stays of more than three days.
